Anthony ‘Glenn’ Adhofer
1964 ~ 2017
It is with heavy hearts that family of the late Anthony ‘Glenn’ Adhofer announce his passing in Medicine Hat on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at the age of 53 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Ashton Charles Anthony (Monika) Thompson, Madison Ashlee Adhofer and Chinara Michele (Paul) Sandham. Glenn is also survived by his mother, Gladys (Truman) Rutherford; sister, Heidi Adhofer (Alfons Janusas) and her children, Kyla and Rylan; brother, Peter Adhofer; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins as well as his ex-wife and caring friend, Candida Spackman. He was predeceased by his father, Anton Adhofer and grandfather, Ken Ashton. Glenn was born to proud parents, Anton and Gladys Adhofer in Kirkland Lake, ON., on January 19, 1964. He was raised and received his education in Brantford, ON. Glenn was very proud of his 21 years of service in Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry of the Canadian Forces. He enlisted at the age of 18 and retired as a Sergeant after tours in Cypress, Bosnia and Croatia. His military career also included time in the Airborne Regiment, 2 Commando Unit. Through his travels, Glenn developed an inquisitiveness and desire for knowledge of the world. His artistic nature was evident through his love of woodworking, painting and drawing. Glenn enjoyed sports including golf and cycling, but nothing captured his attention more than time spent sharing his love of cooking with his daughters. His unshakeable sense of humour will not soon be forgotten in the hearts and minds of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Glenn’s life will be honoured privately and his memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal service.
