Mrs. Anna Marie Sauer, beloved wife of Frank Sauer, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice, after a short and courageous battle with cancer on Monday, August 14, 2017, at the age of 84 years . Anne was born in Medicine Hat and raised in Maleb attending Glen Echo School and Conquerville School where she completed Grade 12. On April 9, 1956, Anne Voeller married Frank Sauer at St. Anthony’s in Granlea, AB. She enjoyed bowling for more than 30 years with Barbara Stuber and Marg Sturn, retiring in 2013. Other pleasures in Anne’s life were camping, flower gardening and tending to the birds in the backyard. She loved to watch the Toronto Blue Jays, the Medicine Hat Mavericks and curling on TV. Anne was a member of the Red Rock Ladies club, CWL at St. Anthony’s, St. Mary’s and Holy Family parishes and funeral lunch convienor at Holy Family Parish. She had the pleasure of travelling to Hawaii, Alaska, Europe and the Summer Olympic Games in 1984, but most of all travelling to watch Darryl’s baseball games. Anne will be forever remembered in the hearts of her family, husband, Frank; daughters, Arlene Sauer; Mona Daniels (Kelly Hannah), grandson, Ryan Daniels (Amanda) and their son, Riley; granddaughter, Lisa Daniels (Jessie Gallipeau) and their father, Jeff Daniels; son, Darryl (Kelly) Sauer; brothers, Simon (Mary) Voeller, George Voeller, Fred (Carol) Voeller; In-laws, Emma Steinkey, Stan (Pat) Sauer, Albert (Susan) Sauer, Betty Parsons, Richard (Marlene) Sauer as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Helen Voeller; brothers, Martin Voeller, Tony (Florence) Voeller, Casper Voeller; nephew, Stan Voeller; niece, Helen Stillinger; brothers-in-law, Max Steinkey, Brian Parsons, George Sauer; sisters-in-law, Shirley Sauer and Lorraine Voeller; parents-in-law, Louis and Anna Sauer. Vigil Prayers will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, AB., on Monday, August 21, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat, AB., on Tuesday, August 22, 2107 at 10:30 a.m. with Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery.
