1934 ~ 2017
Violet Florence Fairless, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Monday, August 28, 2017, at the age of 83 years while surrounded by her loving family. Violet was born in Medicine Hat. She met her husband George and was married in 1956. She worked for many years as a ladies ready wear clerk at Eatons Department Store. Violet touched many lives with her years of volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society. She loved getting together with her long time friends and neighbors of Mckenzie Cres. Violet is survived by her three children, Gayle (Perry) Gagley, Greg (Mona) Fairless and Garth (Cindy) Fairless. She also leaves four grandchildren, Jason (Kerri), Jenn, Ashley, and Johnathan. She also leaves to cherish eight great-grandchildren. Violet is also survived by her special partner, Art Grove, and his beautiful extended family. Violet was predeceased by her parents; husband, George, two sisters and a brother. Vi’s smile and laugh could light up any room, she had a heart of gold and was an incredible friend of many. She loved her second home in Yuma Arizona, in which, she spent her winters surrounded by many good friends. The celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
