Lorette Mary Howe of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at the age of 96 years, beloved wife of the late George Richard Howe. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, George “Jock” (Dawn) Howe of Edmonton, Reg (Linda) Howe of Buffalo, Ron (Sheila) Howe of Empress, Susan (Dave) Elliott of Maple Creek, and son-in-law, Vern Elliott of Nanton; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Frances Arden of Olds, Helen Beglaw of Medicine Hat and Colette Olsen of Medicine Hat; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Eva and George Brassard; her husband, George Richard Howe on March 8, 1989; one daughter, Mona Elliott on September 11, 2010; one brother, Adelbert Brassard; three brothers-in-law, George Arden, Ken Olson and Arnold Beglaw. Lorette Howe was born on February 9, 1921 and raised at Atlee. She married George Howe on December 30, 1943. They originally ranched at Atlee and then in 1962, moved to the Ranch at Buffalo. In 1981, Lorette and George purchased a house in Medicine Hat and George continued to ranch with Reg until his passing in 1989. Lorette liked bowling, golfing and took great pride in her home. She later moved to the Chinook Village where she lived until recently moving to St. Joseph’s Home. While at St. Joseph’s Home, Lorette received wonderful care. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, from 12:00 – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Shane P. Andrus officiating. A private family interment will follow in the Prairie View Cemetery.
