Donald Thomas Galonski passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the age of 53 years, beloved spouse of Pat Enns of Redcliff. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Thomas (Marlene) Galonski; his mother-in-law, Lois Enns; his children, Marissa Williams (Andrew Thornthwaite) of Victoria, Madison Galonski of Red Deer and Chantel (Nathan) DeAzevedo of Lethbridge; two grandchildren, Dominic and Ronin; his siblings, JoAnn (Dan) Dick of Oyen, Margaret (Gordon) Hynes of Burlington, David (Brenda) Galonski of Springbank, Marcy Leigh (Grant) of Calgary and Brad Handsaeme (Corinne) of Stoney Plain, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret on August 3, 1982. Don grew up in the Medicine Hat area and attended various catholic schools around the city. In his younger years he was an altar boy at Christ the King church. Being very sports minded, some of his fondest memories as a teenager were playing baseball. Don’s passion for baseball followed him into adulthood. His favourite team was the Toronto Blue Jays and favourite position to play was pitcher. Growing up, Don spent many summers at Elkwater with his family and spoke often of the fun times and shenanigans that he, his family, and friends shared at the park. He attended McCoy High School where he met many lifelong friends, including Pat. After high school, Don developed a passion for painting cars. He attended the Medicine Hat College, earning his Journeyman’s ticket and then went on to work at Rodeo Ford and Murray’s for many years. He continued to work in the industry for over 25 years. He was very proud of his accomplishment in this area and excelled in his craft. Don then went to worked in the oil field until 2009, when he and Pat reconnected and he moved to Redcliff where he resided until the time of passing. Don enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. When he was out with family or friends, he would often be the one making others laugh with his quick wit, sarcasm and charm. Although Don enjoyed all types of music, country music with a little Michael Buble was his favourite. In his free time he enjoyed watching the Space Channel, golfing, or providing facts that he learned along the road of life. He loved his girls, Madison, Marissa and Chantel; they were always at the forefront of his mind. He was not always able to express his feelings freely but loved his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins with all his heart. His infections smile, and laughter will be dearly missed by his family and the people he called his friends. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Life Celebrant, David Townsend.
