Lois Jean Stockdale

With sadness, we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend Lois Jean Stockdale (nee Martin) on Tuesday, December 12th, 2017 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Lois was predeceased by her son, Bill; and sister, Esther Maclean. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Martin, and Tony; daughters-in-law, Kathy, Marg, and Kandy; grandchildren, Krista, Lindsey, Lisa, Paul, Rogan and Tyana; and great granddaughter, Eleanor.
Lois grew up on a small farm near Ponoka, Alberta. She inherited her mother’s love for playing the piano, enjoyed many Hawaiian vacations, and photography. She spent many years as a high-level administrator in the Alberta Ministry of Health, where her organizational skills were greatly appreciated. She was very involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she developed life-long friendships.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, 7 Sierra Boulevard SW, on Saturday from 10:00 until 10:55 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS on Saturday, December 16th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop J. Mulholland conducting. A private interment will take place subsequently in Ponoka, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Lois’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
