Lrfilla “Spud” Laigi Conte passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the age of 91 years, beloved husband of Violet Conte (Lehr) for 64 years. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Sandy Maier, Don (Terrie) Conte and Pam Bouman (Brian Gardner); eight grandchildren, Shelly (Pete), Jeff (Nancy), Dean (Aletta), Amanda (Josh), Mat (Alexis), Derek (Karla), Jennifer (Jared), and Clinton. 19 Great Grand Children as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Giovanina and Egidio Conte; one sister Olanda Conte; one son-in-law Fred Maier; and one Great Granddaughter Lucia Karla Conte. Spud worked 31 years as a bus driver for D.R.E.S. at Suffield. Spud and Vi spent summers house boating or camping, enjoyed numerous bus trips and cruises, especially the Panama Canal where they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with their children. They travelled to Arizona where Spud got to see the Old Tucson Studios where his favorite Western movies were filmed. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL on Monday, January 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Pahl officiating, with viewing starting at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
