Betty Dye
1929 ~ 2018
It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Hazel Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Dye of Medicine Hat, Alberta at the age of 89 years. She passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on her birthday, February 27th. Betty leaves behind her sons, Bradley and Larry; daughters-in-law, Ruth and Marlene and grandchildren, Adam, Brittany, Jocelyne and Amanda. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert; mother, Rosina; father, George; sisters, Marion, Florence, Inez and brother, Warren. Betty was born Hazel Elizabeth Ruff on February 27, 1929, in Windsor, Ontario but spent the majority of her early life in Saskatchewan. She met her husband, Albert in Yorkton, SK while he was stationed there with the RCMP and they were subsequently married in Yorkton in 1952. Al’s duties with the RCMP ‘Air’ Division took the family to the Northwest Territories, Manitoba, back to Saskatchewan and finally to Edmonton where they resided for 40 years. Betty moved to Medicine Hat following Albert’s passing where she resided in the community until entering an extended care facility in 2016. Betty will be remembered for her generosity, warmth, sense of humour and for the tremendous and loving care that she had for her family and friends. While we deeply mourn her passing, we are thankful for her faith as we surrender her into the loving arms of her Saviour Jesus Christ. The memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 1903 – 19 Avenue N.W., Calgary, Alberta, on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at www.cooksouthland.com) Honoured to serve the family is
