Shirley Larock

With heavy hearts the family of Shirley Isabelle Larock (of Eatonia, Saskatchewan) announces her passing on Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at the age of 75 years. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 57 years, Arnott; four children, Greg (Shawn), Derwin (Sue), Elaine (David) Stickel and Sharon (Brian) Getz; eight grandchildren, Brady Larock (Dana), Brandon (Jillian) Larock, Mitchell (Lindsay) Larock, Landon Getz (Jordon), Connor Getz, Logan Larock, Kannan Stickel, and Kabri Stickel; four great-grandchildren, Addison, Kennedy, Kori, and Vaughn Larock and one grandbaby on the way; brother-in-law, Dale Larock; sister-in-law, Margaret (Joe) Boser; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, Bryce and Mary Rowe; her grandsons, Rem, Declan, and Dawson Stickel; and one brother-in-law, Lloyd Larock. Shirley was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan on May 9th, 1942. She was raised in Flaxcombe where she received her early education and went on to attend Westcliff Composite School in Marengo graduating in 1960. On November 4th, 1960, she married Arnott Larock and they farmed south of Flaxcombe. Shirley enjoyed helping out on the farm and made many meals for the men working in the field. She took great pride in watching Greg and Derwin play hockey and Elaine and Sharon figure skating and spent many hours travelling with the girls to and from Medicine Hat for skating lessons. Shirley loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren who all meant so much to her. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, on Monday, March 12th, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating.
