September 16, 1942 ~ June 27, 2018
It is with profound sadness that the family announce the sudden passing of Gaylene L. Scory, beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Scory. She was born and raised in Kindersley, SK. and moved to Medicine Hat in 1968. Gaylene married Robert (Bob) Scory on October 6, 1989 in Medicine Hat and shared 28 wonderful years together. She spent many years in the Real Estate business before her retirement. Gaylene was the first female President of the Alberta Real Estate Board, President of the Medicine Hat Real Estate Board and the first female realtor to achieve $1M in sales. She was a member of Job’s Daughters, John Howard Society and the Ladies of the Royal Purple (Shriner’s). Gaylene loved her family and grandchildren before anything else. She also enjoyed golf, reading, playing cards especially Canasta, sewing, watching “Day’s Of Our Lives” on TV, curling, hockey and various other sports on TV. She was a selfless, caring, big hearted woman who was accepting of everyone in her circle. Gaylene’s strong will and business mind gave her the reputation of ‘The Boss’. She will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of her family, husband, Bob; children, Sherry Dale, and her son, Braydon Dale; Trish Danderfer, and her children, Devon (Meaghan) Danderfer and their children, Brylee and Jaxon; Coy Schneider; Jace Schneider; Monty (Melissa) Scory and their children, Madison and Mason. Gaylene’s memory will also be cherished by her siblings, Joanne (Ralph) Warman, Dennis Mellum, Brian (Linda) Mellum as well as numerous nieces, nephews and loving family members. Gaylene was predeceased by her parents, Garold and Lillian Mellum and brother, Garry Mellum. Please note the change in venue and the time of the Celebration of Gaylene’s life which will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., in the Auditorium at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Park, 2055 – 21 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating.
