Jessie Alice Morrison, beloved wife of the late Samuel Hayes Morrison, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Society in Medicine Hat on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the age of 97 years. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Robertalynn (Harold) Rath of Medicine Hat; five grandchildren, Raymond Rath, Perry Rath, Jody (Dave) Nelson, Blaine Fomradas, Shannon (Guido) Cattoni; nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Samantha and Kingston Rath, Hunter and McKinley Nelson, Nikolaus and Dallon Fomradas, Holden and Taite Cattoni. Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Sam in 1985; daughter, Diane Fomradas; son-in-law, John Fomradas; two sisters and two brothers. Jessie McCaig was born on April 25, 1921, and married Samuel Morrison on May 4, 1940, in Medicine Hat. She worked at Beveridge Furniture for many years and when she retired she made her family and grandchildren her work. Jessie enjoyed knitting sweaters, sewing, quilting, walking her dog and visiting with people. A Celebration of Jessie’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow in her mother’s grave at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception facility.
