Darrell Pierce
1958 ~ 2018
Darrell Fredrick Arthur Pierce, beloved son, brother, father and friend, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Monday, October 29, 2018, at the age of 60 years. Darrell was born in Medicine Hat on February 24, 1958, into the family of John and Anne Marie Pierce, the third of four children. He went to school in Medicine Hat and Cudworth, Saskatchewan, however, after graduation, Darrell returned to Medicine Hat. He worked as an electrician in and around Medicine Hat and Redcliff for many years, only recently making a complete change and taking classes at the Medicine Hat College, which he loved. In 1988, Darrell had the good fortune to meet and marry Kima Moore. Their children, Tamara, Lee, Jana and Sloan, were a source of great joy and pride for Darrell. He was an ardent sports fan who loved baseball, hockey, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Darrell was also a keen amateur astronomer. He loved puttering around the garden and tinkering with clocks. In the last few years you could often find Darrell sitting in the garage, visiting with friends and watching the world go by. Darrell is survived by Kima and by his children: Tamara (Benny), Lee (Heidi), Jana, and Sloan as well as three grandchildren, Arda, Karson, and London. Darrell is also survived by his father, John; his brothers, Dave (Lauralee) and Doug (Jaylene) and his sister, Nancy (Robert). He is remembered with affection by his many friends and by numerous Pierce and Skjei aunts, uncles and cousins. Darrell was predeceased by his mother, Anne Marie, in March 2016, who he missed very much. A Celebration of Darrell’s Life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Major Murray Jaster officiating.
