1925 ~ 2018
Mrs. Rose Maier, beloved wife of the late Mr. Henry Maier, passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at the age of 92 years. Rose is survived by her brother, Steve Horeth of Kitchener, Ontario; daughters, Anna-Maria Robinson and husband Vincent Robinson of Augusta, Georgia; Eileen Maier and husband James Capers of New York, NY.; son, Neil Maier of Calgary; granddaughter, Shelley Jarvis of Victoria, BC.; two grandsons as well as two great-grandsons. She was predeceased by her brother, Peter Horeth and her grandson, Brent Jarvis. Rose was born in Waltersdorf, Romania and immigrated to Canada on September 23, 1950; marrying Henry Maier in 1952. Rose loved life, was known for her quick wit, love of laughter and great cooking skills. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all the nurses and staff of both Chinook Village and Masterpiece Southland Meadows for all of their kindness and care provided to Rose over the years. Rose’s life will long be remembered by her family and friends. A Celebration of Rose’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Bredeson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery with a time of fellowship thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
