It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fidelis (Dale) Phillip Anhleher at the age of 85 years. Dale is survived by his wife, Clara; his two children, Kathy (Roy) Sutherland and William Anhelher (Keri); grandchildren, Percy, (Roxy), Crystal, Jeremy (Christine), Marshall and Casey; and great- grandchildren; , MacKenzie, Tyrell, Aaryn, Kaiden and Christopher; his sister, Betty; three sisters-in-law; Clara’s family; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Valentine and Katherine Anhelher; daughter, Dawn Marie; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Dale was born on May 29th, 1934, in Lancer, SK. He attended school there and then went on to work as a farm hand in the Lancer area. He moved to Medicine Hat in 1969 and worked as a mechanic’s assistant. During his retirement years he worked as a security guard for Wackenhut. Dale loved his children, and his grand and great-grandchildren. He would often take them fishing and camping. He loved to dance, play cards, and visit relatives.
Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5 on Monday, July 22nd at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 – 2nd Avenue NE MEDICINE HAT, AB T1A 5Z9, on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2019, at 10:30 am with Father Francis Tran, Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Section at Hillside Cemetery.
