Jenith Ann Plaksey (Vetter) of Cypress County, passed away on Friday, July 19th, 2019 in Medicine Hat, Alberta after a brief battle with cancer and underlying conditions at the age of 70 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of almost 50 years; George Plaksey; children, Shelly Plaksey, Cheryl (Kevin) Kalmring, and Kevin Plaksey; grandchildren, Braden Kalmring and Brooklynn Kalmring; brothers, Tom (Maria) Vetter and Norbert (Cindy) Vetter; sisters, Marilyn Davidson and Donna (Rhody) Hay; brother-in-law, Phillip (Veronica) Plaksey; sisters-in-law, Mary (Wayne) Sorrell and Eileen (Randy) Rosenau; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, Pete and Anne Vetter and in-laws, Martin and Eva Plaksey.
Jenith was the eldest of five children, born to Pete and Ann Vetter in Unity, SK, on April 17th, 1949. She was raised in Reward until her family moved to Medicine Hat when she was 11. She completed her education in Medicine Hat and then worked for a short time at the glass factory. In 1967, she met George, and they were married on June 13th, 1970. From 1970 through 1985, they lived in Camrose where together they raised their young family. In 1985, they relocated to Lethbridge where they stayed until 2006, when they decided together to move to an acreage out by the Elkwater Hutterite colony. Jenith and George lived there until her passing.
Jenith enjoyed many things in life. She enjoyed talking to her loved ones and telling them stories. In some cases, she could drain the battery in four cordless phones in one conversation! She loved her crafts, puzzles, and she loved playing games. Jenith was an avid camper and together with George, they loved spending most of their summer at their lot by Cowley. She loved being outdoors in her garden and tending to her beautiful flowers that she would plant annually. She also enjoyed time spent indoors watching her favorite program, “The Young and the Restless”, aka “The Hung and the Breast-less”. She loved to bake and cook so she could share her treats with all her loved ones, especially for Christmas season. Jane had a love for travelling. She couldn’t wait for her next trip and over the years she ended up on many adventures that she couldn’t wait to tell the family about. Of course, she had everything well documented in her daily journal. But most of all, it was her love of family and the visits she would have with them that kept her young. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
