Stewart was born, raised and educated in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Born to parents, the late Fred Fauser and Ruth (Makus) Fauser.
Stewart loved life. He was always positive. Always found something good in everything and everyone. He was a great teacher/mentor to those who wanted.
After leaving Medicine Hat Stewart moved to Calgary working for Varsity Plymouth. Moving from there to Edmonton, Wildwood and working in many communities around Alberta.
In 1977, on an evening out with his cousin in Drumheller, he met his future wife, Ruth, who happened to have the same first name as his mother. They married in November 1977 and lived in Drumheller where their first child, Amanda was born in 1978. They moved to Medicine Hat later that year. In 1979 they were blessed with their first son, Sheldon. Their third blessing was their son Aaron born in 1981. Stewart worked for Cee Gee Earthmoving Ltd. and then El-San Industries Ltd. With them he started working towards his heavy-duty mechanic ticket, completing it after their move to Edmonton in 1989. He had a couple of jobs before going to work for Tri-Service Manufacturing Ltd. in 1992, continuing there until the early 2000’s. He then went to work for Cassady Engineering.
In November 2002, for their 25th Wedding Anniversary, they purchased an acreage west of Barrhead. A few months later they purchased the acreage next door. The plan was to have their home set-up in 5 years; they were set-up in 4! His acreage was his private oasis. Always had to be neat and tidy, treelines cultivated and the grass looking like a golf course. Stewart continued his working career in Barrhead for a cement company and then a garage door manufacturing repair company before starting his final job at the oat manufacturing plant in Manola where he worked until August 2015. He retired and they spent the first winter in Osoyoos, BC where they were planning on living. Plans changed and the move to Medicine Hat came in April 2016.
Over the next couple years he worked with a friend running a dozer. Then this fall, he was asked to run earthmover for a few weeks. He laughed, he said he started in 1974 working the earth and he would finish his working career working the earth.
His fifth wheel, their retirement home, was well-used in 2019. He loved to go camping and spending time with friends. He loved his summers in BC camping.
He loved early morning coffees at McDonald’s or Tim Horton’s. He spent his spare time reading the news on his iPad or watching his car shows. .
He is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Ruth Ann; and his three children, Amanda (Blain) Borle, Sheldon Fauser (Natalie Brausen) and Aaron Fauser (Andrea Lilley); his seven grandchildren, Hunter Fauser, Holden Fauser, Skylar Fauser, Daxan Fauser, Marie Brausen, Georgia Fauser and Eli Fauser. The grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved to Face-time them to keep connected.
