Snowstorm prompts closure of Coutts border crossing

COUTTS, AB – Drivers will not be able to head to the U.S. via the Coutts border crossing.

According to the Village of Coutts, U.S. Customs is turning back all vehicles heading south due to heavy snowfall on both sides of the border.

Lethbridge 911 adds that Highway 4 is “extremely icy”.

Highway I15 in the U.S. is closed for regular travel.

Although the motel in Coutts is full for the night, the Village says the Coutts Civic Centre is open and accepting stranded travellers.
