Goodale loses seat in Regina

REGINA, SASK. — The Conservative Party of Canada pulled off a major upset in Saskatchewan.

Longtime Liberal MP Ralph Goodale lost his seat in Regina-Wascana , with Michael Kram projected to take the seat, according to the Canadian Press Federal Election Tracker.

With 119 of 141 polls reporting, Kram received 48.64 per cent of the vote, compared to Goodale’s 33.63 per cent.

Hailey Clark of the NDP finished in third place with 13.36 per cent of the vote.

Goodale, 70, has represented the riding of Regina-Wascana for 26 years. He has held several high profile positions, including serving as Finance Minister from 2003 to 2006.

Most recently, Goodale served as Minister of Public Safety.
