Man suffers minor injuries after his truck is hit by train

Suffield, AB – A gravel truck was struck by a train just outside of Suffield Sunday afternoon and, despite the vehicle suffering massive damage, the driver escaped with only minor injuries.

The collision occurred just after 3 p.m. at a level, uncontrolled crossing near the intersection of Twp Rd. 154-A and Range Road 94 a few kilometres west of Suffield.

Police, volunteer firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene with the driver transported to hospital.

Road conditions were good with visibility clear at the time of the collision.
