Students cast ballots in Student Vote 2019
Medicine Hat, AB – Since 2004, the Student Vote program has been introducing youth across Canada to the electoral process. On Thursday, students at Medicine Hat participating schools had their opportunity to cast a ballot.
Monsignor McCoy High School social studies teacher, Deanna Burzminski, said Student Vote gives kids a chance to learn about the issues and familiarize themselves with casting a ballot.
“This is a very meaningful exercise because we can get kids – the students – to realize that this is not a scarry thing, how easy it is as a task and also realize how to become informed,” said Burzminski.
