Police respond to motor vehicle collision on Maple Avenue

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Medicine Hat police say one person riding an electric scooter suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred at approximately 8:27 a.m. on Maple Avenue Southeast at the Fifth Street Southeast crosswalk. The man in the scooter was travelling west in the crosswalk. A Chrysler Intrepid heading north on Maple Avenue did not yield to the male, striking the scooter and causing the man to fall off.
The driver of the Intrepid did not suffer any injuries from the collision. The man on the scooter suffered minor cuts and scrapes.
The female driver of the Intrepid was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
