Redcliff`s surge tank project underway

Redcliff, AB – A mountain of dirt and a large excavation hole sits on the corner of Third Street and Third Avenue in Redcliff’s northwest quadrant as the town’s project to install a surge tank gets underway.

The nearly $1,000,000 project is part of a mitigation effort to tackle localized flooding in the town.

Originally scheduled to begin construction in 2017, the project began earlier this month.

In July 2013, the town experienced severe flooding following a torrential downpour. Dozens of homes and businesses where affected.
