INTERVIEWS: Female racers on the rise at Medicine Hat Speedway

MEDICINE HAT, AB — For years, stock-car racing in southeast Alberta has been a male-dominated sport.

The Medicine Hat Speedway, however, is seeing a sharp increase in adrenaline-filled ladies taking the driver’s seat, and are making headway in the season standings.

The Baby Grand class began its 2019 campaign last weekend featuring four drivers in total — all of which female.

16-year-old Faith Luther took home the checkered flag ahead of Robyn Abel, Shaelyn Dolter, and Megan Preston who all agree they’ve created a special bond on the raceway.
