MEDICINE HAT, AB — Starting next Tuesday, a section of Kipling Street Southeast will be closed to traffic for approximately a month.

The closure will be on Fifth Avenue Southeast, directly in front of the Canada Post building. The work will see environmental utilities crews install new water and sewer mains to residents in the area of Spencer Street.

All residents and businesses will still have access to their properties, and businesses will be maintain normal business hours. A news release from the city says that modified access will be provided into the Canada Post location to ensure no interruptions in service and allow customers to access the building.

Drivers are being advised to plan routes in advance, as the intersection will be closed until the construction is completed. Detours will be in place in the area for the duration of the work. The city says, barring any weather delays, the work should be finished in August.
