MEDICINE HAT, AB — The city is reminding residents to use caution on one of its trails.
Temporary fencing has been installed along the Northwest River Trail, located directly south of the intersection of First Street NW and Sixth Avenue NW, due to erosion factors near the river bank. The trail has now narrowed to one meter wide.
Users are reminded to slow down and use caution when approaching the area.
Currently, there is no anticipated date of repair, however crews are looking into permanent remediation for the affected areas. The city will issue an advisory once conditions are favourable for re-opening the entire width of the trail. However, If it deteriorates further, the trail will be fully closed.
