Quebec couple pick up $60-million cheque after winning big in lottery
QUEBEC — A school janitor who recently won $60 million in the lottery with his wife said Monday he has already called his boss to say he’s quitting.
The couple from Saguenay, 200 kilometres north of Quebec City, say they still don’t know what they will do with all the money, which they won in last Friday’s Lotto Max draw.
“It’s a bit surreal,” Marie-Josee Picard told a news conference at the Loto-Quebec offices in Quebec City, adding she and her husband, Carl Villeneuve, are still in shock.
Picard, 46, and Villeneuve, 55, say some of the money will go to family.
