Town of Leader evacuated due to fire

LEADER, SASK – The town of Leader has been evacuated due to the wildfire near the Alberta/Saskatchewan border.
Residents were urged to travel to Kindersley, travelling from Highway 21 South to Highway 44 East. Residents unable to self-evacuate were asked to go to the community centre, where transportation is available.
Residents are advised to listen to their local media reports and authorities to determine when it is safe to travel.
Residents of Burstall and the southern part of the RM of Deerforks were also evacuated earlier tonight as a result of the fire.
