INTERVIEWS: Ridding the demons with a trip to Red Deer

Oct 24, 2017 | 5:15 PM

RED DEER, AB β€” For a fifth straight game, the Medicine Hat Tigers will be without the scoring touch of Max Gerlach when they battle the Red Deer Rebels at the ENMAX Cetrium Tuesday night.

But after the Tabbies struck a deal with Spokane to send forward Zach Fischer to the Chiefs, they received some added depth in acquiring 18-year-old Hayden Ostir.

The Winnipeg native made his Tigers debut on Sunday β€” a 7-2 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

CHAT Sports caught up with Ostir to hear how he heard the news of the trade and how he’s transitioning into the Tigers offence-first system. Plus, linemate Gary Haden, forward Ryan Jevne, and head coach & GM Shaun Clouston chime in on what Ostir brings to the team.
