Over 100 Junior Golfers competing at the Alberta U17 Championship at Connaught

The Connaught Golf Course in Medicine Hat is hosting the Alberta U17 Championship through Wednesday.

The first round of the tournament started on Monday with 80 boys and 25 girls competing in each division.

Leading the way in the boys category was Calgary’s Benson White, who shot an even-par 73 in his opening round. Taking a one-stroke lead into day two.

In the girls’ category, Red Deer’s Raylee Denton posted a three-over-par 76 on Monday. She had a three-stroke lead going into the second round.
