Due to the elevated risk, the MHPS Tactical Arrest and Control Team (TACT) was deployed, and negotiators made several unsuccessful attempts to resolve the situation. After judicial authorization was obtained to enter the residence, MHPS says officers entered the home at approximately 9:46 p.m. and arrested the second individual, who resisted arrest. 

As a result, a 43-year-old male, from Medicine Hat, was charged with the following:

• Resisting a peace officer
• Breach of a Conditional Supervision Order (x3)
• 41 Criminal Code charges related to seven outstanding warrants

MHPS says both individuals were held for judicial interim release hearings. The man was remanded into custody pending his next court appearance on June 29, 2026, in Medicine Hat Provincial Court. 

Police say the 43-year-old male, remains awaiting his judicial interim release hearing. According to MHPS, he sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by EMS. No members of the public or MHPS officers were injured during the incident.
