Nine Medicine Hat youth Baseball players to represent Zone 1 at 2026 Alberta Summer Games

Medicine Hat baseball will be well represented next month at the 2026 Alberta Summer Games in Strathcona County from July 16-19.

Nine players from two different Medicine Hat teams are set to play for Zone 1 – Sunny South at the event.

Beckett Lybbert, Kade Velichko, Daxton Simpson, and Hunter White will represent Medicine Hat Big League Baseball. Lybbert, Velichko, and Simpson are members of the K of C Knights. White plays for the Saamis Rotary Majestics.

Diesel Bishop, Burke Morrison, Madden Ellis, Blake Harrison, and Jack Harris will represent the Medicine Hat 15U Mavericks team.

All players are in the U15 age division, born in 2011 and 2012, with up to 16 players per team.

Medicine Hat’s John Rolheiser will serve as a coach. He is an assistant coach with the Mavericks 18U team.

The Alberta Amateur Baseball Council will lead the event and provide updated information during it.

Games in Sherwood Park start on July 17, with the championship games on the morning of July 19.

Eight zones will be represented, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the playoffs.
