Months long drug investigation leads to arrest of two Lethbridge men
Alberta’s Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) behind the arrest of two southern Alberta men following the discovery of cocaine and cash valued at nearly $400,000.
In a statement Friday morning, it said its Lethbridge-based organized crime team, with the help of the Lethbridge Police Service, seized the drugs on May 20th after searching two homes, a storage unit, and a vehicle.
Authorities say they were able to seize over 3900 grams of cocaine, 223 grams of ‘meth’, firearms ammunition, body armour, and $2,775 in cash.
“Organized crime stretches beyond municipal boundaries and does not discriminate in how it inflicts harm on communities. This case exemplifies how ALERT teams share intelligence and enforcement strategies to disrupt the drug trade,” said ALERT Staff Sergeant Trevor Sheppard.
