Florkowski sits in top spot after day one at NAOAGA championship at Connaught Golf Club

Jun 2, 2026 | 10:28 AM

Medicine Hat’s Jesse Florkowski sits in first place after day one at the 2026 North American One-Armed Golfers Association championship hosted at Connaught Golf Club.

The six-time tournament winner, and the world’s top-ranked one-armed golfer, shot a 74 on Monday to sit one over par heading into day two. Right behind him is Ryder Barr, who shot a 75.

The tournament is split into multiple divisions. Florkowski is playing in the Gletchell Division, which is unassisted and requires a golfer to have only one hand touching the club for any stroke.

Up to 34 golfers are competing across four divisions at the tournament. Two golfers had no scores to report on Monday.

Additional divisions include the Fullgraf, which allows the golfer to use anything to assist their one hand touching the club for a golf stroke. Arizona’s Rob Walden was the lone golfer to report a score in that category on Monday. He shot 76, three over par.

The Parr Division is for those aged 55 and older, and includes both unassisted and assisted players. The best score on day one came from Billy Frey with an 81, 8 over par. He is followed closely by Tom Miller, who shot 83, and Mark Manion, who shot an 84.

The Sanders Division includes assisted and unassisted players where the course handicaps and the player’s handicap score for the best net score. Blair Williams had an 80 to take a four-stroke lead into day two.

There aren’t any golfers competing in the Cooper Division, which is for women, both unassisted and assisted.

Tee times continued on Tuesday at 9 a.m. and will begin at the same time on Wednesday. Thursday’s semi-finals begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the championship matches later in the afternoon.

The tournament hosted in Medicine Hat marks only the second time it has been held in Canada.

The public is welcome to come out and watch.

Tournament results and updates will be posted through the North American One-Armed Golfers Association’s social media page.
