Just 31 seconds behind was second-place finisher Logan Pancoast of the MHC Rattlers Track team. Placing third was Andrew Vis.
A Rattlers athlete took top spot in the women’s 5 km run, with Reyna Woodruff clocking a time of 22:49, a mere nine seconds ahead of Calgary’s Erin Nordstrom-Young. Eagle Butte High School runner Sarah Laturnas took the bronze medal.
Medicine Hat’s Darryl Smith dominated the men’s 10 km race. The 57-year-old runner had a time of 39:43, 75 seconds better than Medicine Hat High School’s Ethan Mellish. Brett Young placed third.
