Brooks RCMP investigate oilfield break ins and copper wire theft
Brooks RCMP are investigating a series of break-ins and thefts targeting oilfield and gas sites, including incidents involving stolen copper wire and industrial equipment.
Police said the incidents have been reported over three consecutive days from April 16 and April 18.
On April 16, officers responded to a break and enter at an oil battery northeast of Tilley, where two masked suspects allegedly cut through wire fencing to access a storage area.
Items valued between $5,000 and $10,000 have been reported stolen, as police conducted a scene examination and collected evidence, including CCTV footage.
