Josh Van Mulligen played hero for his hometown club, scoring the eventual game-winner 4:30 into the third period to help the Medicine Hat Tigers complete the comeback and take a 2-0 series lead over the Calgary Hitmen.

The Hitmen led by a pair twice in the game with goals from Caine Wilke, Keaton Jundt, and Ethan Moore.

Kadon McCann scored his first of the postseason to get the Tigers on the board just past the halfway mark of the first period.

Kade Stengrim found the back of the net early in the second period to again shrink the Medicine Hat deficit to a goal.

Jonas Woo tied the game at three for the Tabbies with a great breakaway goal, flipping a backhander past Hitmen netminder Eric Tu.

Tu allowed four goals on 24 shots in the loss.

Tigers netminder Jordan Switzer was solid in the win, turning aside 17 shots in the final two periods after allowing three in the opening frame and was named the game’s first star.

Medicine Hat now leads the Eastern Conference semi-finals 2-0, heading to Calgary for games three and four, beginning Monday from the Scotiabank Saddledome.
