Medicine Hat-born artist, Morgan Klaiber, is among eight finalists in the 2026 SiriusXM Top of the Country competition, as public voting is now open to help determine the next phase of the national search for emerging Canadian talent.

The competition launched by SiriusXM Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Country Music Association, promotes and elevates the best emerging country music talent in Canada.

Klaiber is a ranch-raised singer who brings the enduring spirit of the modern West to her music and won Album of the Year at the 2025 Country Music Alberta Awards for her debut album, Hardgrass Country.

Blending authentic country, folk lyricism and a classic rock edge, Klaiber has become one of Western Canada’s most distinctive and fast-rising talents.

The semi-finalists have each recorded original in-studio songs and videos for the competition, which are now available at topcountry.siriusxm.ca.

Other semi-finalists include Ben Chase of Prince Edward Island, Blue Ridge Band of Quebec, Catie St. Germain of Manitoba, Josh Stumpf of Saskatchewan, Morgan Griffiths of British Columbia, Nicolette and the Nobodies of Ontario, and Shawnee Kish of Alberta.

Voting is open daily until April 14, with the public helping to narrow the finalists to three, who will perform on major stages this summer across North America, competing for a $25,000 grand prize and the title of 2026 Top of the Country champion.

The stages include Departure Festival in Toronto, LASSO Montréal and CMA Fest in Nashville, with the competition concluding in September in Saskatoon during Country Music Week 2026, where the remaining finalists will perform in a live finale concert broadcast on SiriusXM.

The broadcast will be live and available to tune in on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country Radio on channel 171.

Michelle Mearns, SVP of Programming and Operations at SiriusXM Canada, called the current stage of the Top of the Country competition an exciting moment for both artists and fans as the top eight showcase their talent.

President of the CCMA, Amy Jeninga, said the organization is proud to partner on the SiriusXM Top of the Country competition to support Canadian artists, adding fans play a key role in helping choose the next generation of rising stars.

Klaiber is also performing at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Night Show on Saturday, July 25, with Johnny Reid.
