Votes set to open for the 2026 Kraft Hockeyville contest

Apr 2, 2026 | 6:00 PM

Votes for the 2026 Kraft Hockeyville contest open at 7 a.m. on Friday, April 3, as Taber goes head-to-head with Tumbler Ridge, B.C., in the national final.

The voting runs until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, with the winner set to receive $250,000 in arena upgrades and the chance to host an NHL pre-season game.

Hockey Night in Canada will announce the winner when voting time concludes.

The Town of Taber earned its spot after the rink faced an explosion in December of 2025, leaving the arena out of commission.

The Community Centre recently earned $50,000 in earlier rounds of the contest that will be used for rink upgrades.

Organizers say the national vote reflects the town’s strong community spirit and support from across Canada.
