Dunmore’s Bell named a Star of the Week in KIJHL

Dunmore’s Will Bell was named one of three Stars of the Week for the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League for the week ending March 15.

Bell, 19, plays forward for the Princeton Posse and had eight points with four goals in four games last week during a playoff series with the Kelowna Chiefs.

The Posse won the series in seven games.

Bell averaged 23 minutes and 24 seconds of ice time through those games and was plus-5.

He finished the opening round with five goals and 11 points in the seven-game series.

The Posse return to action for the second round of the KIJHL playoffs on Friday against the Revelstoke Grizzlies.

Bell finished the regular season third in league points with 74 in 44 games, and was second in assists with 50.

He was named the MVP of the Bill Ohlhausen Division and led the scoring race for that division.

Bell played his minor hockey in Irvine, Medicine Hat, and with the South Alberta Hockey Academy.
