Rounding into postseason form, Tigers prepare for home-and-home with Hurricanes

Mar 13, 2026 | 12:44 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers conclude their regular season series with their Highway 3 rival, the Lethbridge Hurricanes, this weekend as the club gears up for postseason hockey.

The Tigers are 6-0-0-0 against the Hurricanes this season and are aiming for their first regular-season sweep of Lethbridge since at least 1996.

With a goal in Tuesday night’s 6-0 shutout win over the Regina Pats, Tigers defenseman Jonas Woo tied Cliff Lane (1975-76) for the most points in a single season by a defenseman in franchise history, and has an opportunity to set the record tonight.

Woo also rides an 11-game point streak into this weekend with 19 points over that span.

Medicine Hat twin forwards Liam and Markus Ruck sit one-two in CHL scoring, with Markus leading the way with 98 points, and Liam one point behind him.

Markus also leads the CHL in assists with 79.

Brothers have never finished one-two in the CHL scoring race, and the CHL Top Scorer award has only ever been shared twice.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Still, they will look to spoil the Tigers hopes of claiming top spot in the Eastern Conference by stealing points this weekend.

Puck drop from inside the VisitLethbridge.com Arena is slated for 7:00 p.m. MST.

The pre-game show gets underway at 6:45 p.m. on WILD 94.5 FM.
