Medicine Hat Tigers look to secure second consecutive Central division title, extend win streak to ten

Mar 7, 2026 | 12:15 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers will look to secure their second consecutive Central Division pennant tonight as they battle the Edmonton Oil Kings to conclude a four-games in five nights stretch.

The Tigers were in action last night, where they notched their ninth straight win, 8-4, against the Red Deer Rebels.

Medicine Hat is a perfect 3-0-0-0 over the first three games of their four-in-five and will look to complete the clean sweep this evening inside Rogers Place.

The Tigers offense has been roaring lately, currently the lone team in the Western Hockey League to be averaging over five goals per game this season, and have scored eight or more in six of their last 12 games.

Meanwhile, the Edmonton Oil Kings have been off since last Sunday when they defeated the Swift Current Broncos 3-2 in overtime.

The last meeting between the two Central Division foes saw Medicine Hat explode for five goals in the third period to hang a 10-6 win on the Oil Kings.

Tonight marks the final regular-season matchup of the year, with the Tabbies holding a 4-2-0-1 record against the Oil Kings.

Edmonton, Alta., native Jordan Switzer will get the start between the pipes tonight for Medicine Hat as he will look to backstop the club to their first back-to-back division crown since 2018.

Puck drops from inside Rogers Place at 7:00 p.m. MST.

The pre-game show begins at 6:45 p.m. on WILD 94.5 FM.
