Coldest Night of the Year walk in Medicine Hat raises over $20k goal for The Mustard Seed

The Coldest Night of the Year walk in Medicine Hat was back after a year on hiatus. Saturday’s event raised over a $20,000 fundraising goal, and included 79 walkers, 16 teams, and 29 volunteers.

The total was at $21,910 by 12:30 p.m. on Monday, and donations will continue to be accepted through TheSeed.ca/CNOY until the end of March.

The organization said that this money has an incredible impact on its ongoing operations in Medicine Hat, with all funds raised staying local to support their front-line work at the shelter, health and wellness, and outreach services.

It’s a significant increase in donations from the 2024 walk, which raised of $10,000 for The Mustard Seed in Medicine Hat.

The Mustard Seed is a Christian non-profit organization that has supported individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty since 1984.

It includes locations across Alberta and BC with varying levels of service.
