Alberta Independence Tour makes a stop at the Medicine Hat College Friday

Feb 26, 2026 | 7:30 PM

The Alberta Independence Tour in support of separatism is making several stops throughout the province for a live Rebel News Event, including at Medicine Hat College on Friday.

It includes three featured speakers, Sheila Gunn Reid, Cory Morgan, and Medicine Hat’s Tamara Lich.

Gunn is the Alberta Bureau Chief for Rebel News, Morgan is an Alberta columnist with The Western Standard and Alberta Report, and Lich is a central figure for the 2022 Freedom Convoy protests, who now reports for Rebel News.

The group’s event page states to expect live presentations from each speaker, moderated panel discussions, an open audience question and answer session, and a post event meet-and-greet.

The event runs from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Eresman Theatre at the college.

Tickets are available through the Rebel News website for $20.

There was some pushback from members of the Medicine Hat College community against hosting the event at the educational institution.

A letter in opposition was signed by over 270 members of the college campus.

That full letter can be viewed below.
