Medicine Hat’s Amy Fraser top Canadian in women’s freestyle skiing halfpipe placing fourth
During the early morning hours on Sunday, Medicine Hat’s Amy Fraser, who now resides in Calgary, took to the slopes in Italy to compete in the finals of the Freestyle Skiing Women’s Freeski Halfpipe competition at the Winter Olympics.
Fraser ended up just short of winning a medal, taking fourth spot, but improved her score from qualifying on both the first run with an 85 and the last run with an 88. Her second run didn’t result in a score.
She had qualified for the finals after posting the seventh-best score in qualifying on Thursday with an 81.75.
The result is a four-spot improvement from her eighth-place finish at the 2022 Beijing Games.
