Here is what’s on this weekend in Medicine Hat: February 6-8

It’s the first full weekend of February, and temperatures are expected to stay warm with the sun shining, according to Environment Canada.

Friday will be mainly sunny with a high of 12 °C during the day and a low of zero overnight.

Saturday is expected to be sunny with daytime highs of 13 °C and overnight lows of 5 °C.

Sunday is a mix of sun and cloud with highs of 10 °C in the morning, with cloudy periods in the evening and a low of -1 °C.

🚙 Southern Alberta RV Show & Sale

FRIDAY

The Cypress Centre at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede grounds hosts the Southern Alberta RV Show & Sale starting at 10 a.m. on Friday.

More than 60 recreational vehicles are available to view indoors, with show-only savings on top-selling RV brands across North America.

The event features free admission and parking, more than $500,000 in rebates and prizes, and a chance to spin the Four Seasons Wheel to win up to $5,000 toward an RV purchase.

Door prizes include a 75-inch TV, a Blackstone griddle and an electric bike.

Anyone who purchases a new RV will also receive three years of free Four Seasons emergency on-site service.

🐯 Medicine Hat Tigers

FRIDAY and SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Tigers face the Swift Current Broncos on the road and at home this weekend.

The Tigers will be on the road to Swift Current on Friday and will play host to the Broncos on Saturday.

Puck drop Friday is at 6 p.m., and Saturday is at 7 p.m.

Will Bryant will have the radio broadcast of both games on Wild 94.5 FM, starting with the pre-game on Friday at 5:45 p.m., and Saturday at 6:45 p.m., when he is joined on colour by Lance Doll.

🐍 Medicine Hat Ratters

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

A busy weekend of Medicine Hat Rattlers athletics features Women’s Basketball, Women’s Hockey, and Men’s Basketball.

Women’s Basketball: 6 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday against Red Deer Polytechnic at the Medicine Hat College Snake Pit (Gym).

Women’s Hockey: 7:30 p.m. on Friday against SAIT at the Moose Rec Centre.

Men’s Basketball: 8 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday against Red Deer Polytechnic.

🏺 Museum Opening @ Medalta

SATURDAY

Medalta is inviting the public to a free, all-ages event marking the museum’s 2026 opening on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at its historic site on Medalta Avenue SE.

The museum is launching its “Legacy” year with free admission, guided tours at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., a 10 percent discount on Medalta and Hycroft wares, and a kids’ clay project pick-up day.

Tours are limited to 25 participants each.

🌹 Prairie Roses @ Strathcona Park

SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is hosting a nature walk from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, starting at the Heritage Pavilion in Strathcona Park, to learn about the different species of roses that can be found in the city.

The program encourages those attending the free event to dress appropriately for the weather.

🌱 Naughty Nature Trivia @ MH Brewing Co.

SATURDAY

The Prairie Pride Guild of Medicine Hat & District and the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program are hosting Naughty Nature Trivia, a collaborative fundraiser to expose a different side of nature.

The event will take place at the Medicine Hat Brewing Company from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday.

🥂 Robert Burns Annual Celebration

SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Burns Club will host its 19th annual Robert Burns Celebration at the Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club.

The event will feature cocktails and entertainment starting at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m., and traditional Scottish food and entertainment.

A dress code is in effect for the event, with acceptable attire including Highland kilts, trews, business wear or semi-formal dress.

Tickets are available for purchase on the Burns Club website.

🎤 An Evening with Birdbelly

SATURDAY

Note: comfort food + drink in downtown Medicine Hat is hosting An Evening with Birdbelly at 7 p.m.

Birdbelly is the artistic name used by Métis Canadian Folk Award Nominee singer-songwriter, Cynthia Hamar.

The Wind The Wood, an album blending deep roots with spiritual insight, has been released and will be shared with the public Saturday night.

❄️ Medicine Hat Polar Plunge

SUNDAY

Special Olympics Alberta, in partnership with the Medicine Hat Police Service, will host The Law Enforcement Torch Run, taking place on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Athletic Park.

At this fundraising event, individuals will jump into freezing cold water to raise funds for programs supporting local Special Olympics athletes as they train and compete.

🏈 NFL Championship Parties in Medicine Hat

SUNDAY

As the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots battle for the NFL Championship, The Silver Buckle Sports Bar and The Scoreboard Sports Lounge are hosting parties for the event.

The Silver Buckle from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. is giving away cash prizes, an NFL-branded beer fridge, a 50″ TV, and free popcorn all evening long.

At 3:30 p.m., the Medicine Hat Big League Baseball, in partnership with the Scoreboard, will host a food buffet, drink specials, a silent auction, door prizes and a 50/50 to support the youth baseball program.
