Medicine Hat Tigers drop 5-1 decision to Prince Albert Raiders

Jan 24, 2026 | 10:04 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers emerged with just one of a possible four points on their two-game Saskatchewan road trip as they fell 5-1 to the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday night.

The Tigers lone offense came early in the third period on the power play courtesy of Liam Ruck, who tucked home his 27th of the season to cut the deficit to two.

The Raiders opened the scoring halfway into the opening frame as Brandon Gorzynski scored his first of two first-period goals.

The second period would see the clubs play to a draw, despite the Tabbies outshooting the Raiders 15-4.

The final frame saw the Raiders extend the lead to three before the Ruck tally shrank the lead back to two.

The Raiders would add the final two goals of the game from Brock Cripps and the second of the evening from Aidan Oiring to secure the 5-1 victory and a split in the season series with Medicine Hat.

Jordan Switzer stopped 26 of 31 shots for his fifth loss of the season for the Tigers.

Michal Orsulak turned aside 27 of 28 shots in the win for the Raiders.

The Tigers head back home to begin a three-game homestand Tuesday night against the Saskatoon Blades.
