Here is what’s on this weekend in Medicine Hat: January 23-25

It’s already the fourth weekend of 2026, with cold temperatures expected to persist before a warmer trend later in the weekend.

Friday is a mix of sun and cloud with a high of -18 C and a low of -27 during the day with a wind chill of -38, and in the evening, a high of -17 with a wind chill of -27.

Saturday is projected to be mainly cloudy with periods of light snow ending in the afternoon, with a high of -14 C and a low of -22 with a wind chill of -26.

Sunday is sunny, with a high of -6 C and a low of -13 C at night.

🔫 Nerf Night @ Medicine Hat Public Library

FRIDAY

The Medicine Hat Public Library is hosting a Nerf Night on Friday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Attendance is available for those 19 and older.

Online registration is required on their website.

🐯 Medicine Hat Tigers on the road

FRIDAY and SATURDAY

The Medicine Hat Tigers are on the road this weekend to Saskatchewan with two stops.

Friday’s game is against the Saskatoon Blades, with Saturday against the Prince Albert Raiders.

Both games start at 6 p.m.

The radio broadcast on Wild 94.5 with Will Bryant starts both nights at 5:45.

🍫 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

FRIDAY and SATURDAY

Middle school students will perform Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the Medicine Hat High School Arts Centre.

The show runs at 7 p.m. on Jan. 23 and 24, and tickets are available through School Cash Online or at the door.

🐍 Medicine Hat Rattlers

FRIDAY and SATURDAY

A busy weekend of Medicine Hat Rattlers athletics takes place with Women’s Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Hockey, Men’s Volleyball, and Men’s Basketball.

The Women’s Volleyball team face SAIT at 6 p.m. on Friday.

The Men’s Volleyball team will also face SAIT, with a start time of 8 p.m. on Friday

Women’s Hockey will take on Red Deer Polytechnic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Women’s Basketball will take on SAIT, starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The Men’s Basketball team will face SAIT at 8 p.m. on Saturday.

🏒 Brooks Bandits

SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Brooks Bandits have a pair of home games this weekend at the Centennial Regional Arena.

On Saturday, they host the Spruce Grove Saints at 7 p.m.

Then on Sunday, the Okotoks Oilers are the opponent at 4 p.m.

🥊 Boxing

SATURDAY and SUNDAY

The Medicine Hat Boxing Club presents the 21st Annual Nieman/Page Memorial, which is also the Alberta Silver Gloves event.

The fight card was originally set to take place at three different times.

Saturday bouts wills start at noon and run through the evening instead of the original 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. start times.

Sunday fights start at noon.

The event is at the Medicine Hat Lodge.

Tickets are $25 each or $50 for the weekend, with tables of eight for the whole weekend costing $400.

🎬 Sing at Monarch Theatre

SUNDAY

The feel-good, family-friendly, animated movie Sing is playing during a matinee at the Monarch Theatre on Sunday.

The doors to the theatre open at 1 p.m. as the movie’s start time is 2 p.m.

Only cash admissions of $5 are accepted.

⚾️ Open baseball training session and meet the coaches

SUNDAY

Medicine Hat Big League Baseball is hosting an open training session and “meet the coaches” event on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

The event takes place at the South Alberta Collegiate Building, located at 1351 30 St SW in Medicine Hat.
