Medicine Hat Tigers welcome the Prince Albert Raiders in a battle of Eastern Conference heavyweights

Jan 17, 2026 | 10:17 AM

The Medicine Hat Tigers welcome the East Division-leading Prince Albert Raiders inside Co-op Place tonight in a battle of the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference.

Tonight marks the third of four meetings on the year between the clubs, with the Tigers holding a 2-0-0-0 head-to-head record.

The Tabbies enter following a convincing 7-3 win on home ice last night over their divisional rival, the Edmonton Oil Kings.

In the win, Bryce Pickford scored his league-leading 33rd goal of the season and set a single-season franchise record for goals by a defenseman.

Draft-eligible forwards Liam and Markus Ruck also combined for three goals and seven points in the victory.

Prince Albert was in action down Highway 3, where they defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1.

The Raiders enter 8-2-0-0 over their last ten games.

Tonight marks the first meeting between the clubs since the Western Hockey League trade deadline, which saw Prince Albert acquire Vancouver Canucks first-round draft pick Braeden Cootes.

In four games with the Raiders, Cootes has one goal and three assists, but has been held pointless in two of four outings.

Puck drop from inside Co-op Place is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MST with the pre-game show getting underway at 6:30 on WILD 94.5 FM.
