Medicine Hat under wind warning Thursday

Environment Canada has issued a yellow warning for wind in the Medicine Hat area on Thursday.

The warnings in Alberta extend through the southeast and east-central areas.

Wind gusts in the Medicine Hat area are expected to reach up to 90 km/h today.

The strength of the winds is expected to increase later in the morning and persist through Thursday, before weakening in the evening.

Environment Canada says local utility outages are possible, driving conditions will likely be difficult, and some property damage is also possible.

It’s advised to secure loose objects.

It’s recommended to continue monitoring alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
