It was a record-tying night inside Co-op Place Saturday night as the Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 7-4.

The Tigers tied their longest win streak in franchise history with their 17th straight win, and captain Bryce Pickford tied the franchise record for the most goals by a defenseman in a single season, tying Kris Russell with 32.

The Tabbies wasted little time getting the offense rolling, striking seven seconds into the game with Kade Stengrim tallying his ninth of the season.

From there, the Tigers wouldn’t look back as Andrew Basha, Dayton Reschny, Jonas Woo, Liam Ruck, and Luke Cozens would also add singles, with Cozens getting his first as a Tiger against his former club.

Jordan Switzer got the start and win for the Tabbies, turning aside 17 of 21 shots faced.

Koen Cleaver was busy in the net for the Hurricanes, stopping 40 of 47 in the defeat.

The Lethbridge offense came courtesy of Nathan Maloney, Tyden Lafournaise, Easton Daneault, and Kade Duell.

Beginning Wednesday night in Edmonton, the Tigers begin a stretch of games that sees eight of their next nine games come against five of the top six seeds in the Eastern Conference, including five games against the Edmonton Oil Kings and Prince Albert Raiders.
